I highly recommend the book his guitar tech did about his black Strat. It goes into minute details in it's history and the pictures in the book are stunning. I had a digital copy of the book, as the original hardback book sells for about £140!

While the black Strat's body is pretty old, most of his Strat's are modern reissues and Seymor Duncan would make necks and add the Fender decals for him. This is shown in some correspondents between them, when he needed a new neck during the start of the world tour for "The Wall" in the late 70's.
