That's not new, its always been there.
I've heard some people get good sounds out of it, tbf I'll probably sit this one out and just work on my own sound. Just as soon as I settle on something else, the original plan shows up lol.
There is a cool video on YT by Mike Nielson comparing the various budget and non-budget Marshall preamps - and the Lead 12 came out very well. - way more cost effective than sourcing a JMP-1 (or 9001)!

[I think he has something in his eye for the 'thumbnail']

I gave my Marshall Lead12 combo (bought new in the 80's) to the phd student who helped me move house. depending on how the used prices vary up/down over time, I'm either stingy or generous :D !

Gov Services in the UK are pretty shit compared to Europe. You do occasionally meet advisors who often end up being a good friend more than anything else though. Not very often

The sort of person that will phone up and complain on your behalf, if you have been rejected for anything other than a crappy bedsit in the worst part of town.
This, totally. After university I spent about a year on jobseekers trying to find work as a Graphic Designer. My contact at the job centre basically gave me a free ride saying "I know you want to work in this field so I'll be a bit more relaxed on the rules for you". Didn't get a job in it then, mind, but I am now, so I'm grateful to him.

The bureaucracy of other services though is mind-numbing. Find the good people there and it makes things a lot easier.

It’s great when you have someone on your side. I had an advisor who would apply for all these electrician apprenticeship vacancies for me, in my name and if they rejected it, he would phone them up in front of me and have the most heated discussion with them ever!

I miss that bloke!

On the other hand, I had another bloke who was a complete tool, he was there just to try and fill up the worst vacancies ever (Toilet cleaning on agency, 8 days a week, 40 hours a day, you get the idea).

The worst bit was the latter was supposed to be a “disability and mental health specialist” Bullshit!

I got some money out the c**t though!;)

I suspect ordering things from the US is going to become increasingly difficult, and damn near impossible by the end of the year. So anyone with plans to invest in something made here or exclusive to here might consider either going all-in now or just looking for whatever alternative to anything they want that may be more readily found elsewhere.

The security certificate expired on this site yesterday. Is there anyone actively managing it, or does Rob just wait for people to message him on youtube?
I don't think anyone is taking notice of the forum. Every time it disappears I wait a few days but when nothing happens I put a message on Robs latest Facebook post them the forum is usually back within 24 hours. My devices have been telling me that the site is unsafe for years.

Well, Ibanez dropped doing any purple basses for this years line-up again, after two belters that I couldn't get my hands on last year. Least by the time they possibly bring some back in, i'll be able to afford one, or i'll have snagged one of their offerings from last year second hand.

And sounds like Getting another Warmoth parts bass built may be a bitch then.... Damn it.

First day back.
Lots of things did not make me happy, but some of those I can fix. Just comes from not being there to piss on my own tree. I'll get it back to how I like it. :)

So when a regular came in to complain about produce that she knew she couldn't return, I first asked her to please cover her nose as well as her mouth with her mask. She lit into me saying it was fine that way, and covering her nose makes her anxious and want to pass out. I said we're only following the guidelines for the city and require masks. She kept fighting me.
I asked her if she wondered where I'd been the last month. She hadn't. Obviously. :D So I told her I was out sick with this and that I did not want to be sick again, nor did I want to take it home and kill my wife. That I wasn't really concerned about her if she wasn't for herself, but I was concerned for the people who she might infect. I said she had 3 choices: cover her face while in the store, leave, or wait for me to call the police.

I ain't fucking around. Fucking selfish goddamn selfish ignorant selfish assholes.

Certain amount of annoyance when I pick up any bass to try and learn something, even when I feel like i'm doing an ok job, my head just keeps telling me otherwise and to some extent, why am I bothering. Though It's definitely something I want to be good at, because that's not something another part of my brain has ever been able to shake. Just frustrating really.

Also found out my neighbours have just gone to use my bin for multiple bags, as they left theirs at the gate entrance still full up. Luckily it's that bin day thursday so both will be emptied, Just not even a knock on the door to ask. Good job I live alone and don't have much to throw out, specially right now, but that aint the point.

Ikea at the weekend.

Went to Ikea (Sheffield) on Saturday evening to take some glass doors back (we bought the wrong doors). Really heavy, packaging about 6 feet long and bulky .....
We wheeled our trolley into the store.... to be confronted by a 'guard' who said we had to take the doors through the shop (up the stairs too) - but without the trolley - instead of letting us walk straight to the Customer service desk - which we could literally see through the entrance. Took a couple of minutes of pointing out how large bulky and heavy the boxes were, and how much of a health and safety nightmare he was suggesting... . to change his mind. Funny thing - infront of us when we entered the store were a man/women with a big package on a trolley going to CS just like us.... but they weren't as 'persuasive'. We didn't see them at CS........

That's cheeky. Wait til its dark and put the bags back into their bin.

Yep, I've seen the same happen here. We usually put our bins out at night and the get emptied early the next morning. I've caught my neighbors putting their overly full bin by the road, then walk back and show up again with about another bins worth of trash bags to stuff in other people's bins. I have no idea how a family can collect that much thrash.

She threw dirty diapers into our bin once. Full of shit, and no baggy around it, just the diaper. Our bin smelled like shit for weeks, even though we took it out and put it on her doorstep the same night. Disgusting behavior.

Yupp, pretty much. Must be a family next door, I swear it was completely empty or a bag, then full, could get my stuff in for this week luckily. They don't bother even trying to recycle apparently considering the celebrations box i saw in one bag, basic cardboard is the easiest thing to filter out for the other bin.

Wonder if i can padlock the thing...

It took me.. I kid you not...
3 months to get a contractor to make a quote and then get an appointment to get the bloody work done.

The problem is that he did have the best take on the work and what needed to be done to fix everything long term.
two others didn't even come over and a third can't change a windowsil with rotten wood.

I HATE contractors.. Most are fine at their work but communication and getting an appointment is always such a bloody chore.

Microsoft has the worst customer support I have ever encountered.
I was building my PC and everything went well.. until it came to the Windows 10 installation. I had bought Windows 10 directly from Microsoft and gotten one of those boxed compies with a USB-stick. This USB-stick was faulty, corrupt files. This was way more expensive than the option of getting an OEM-key, should be somewhere around £220.

So I called Microsoft support and describe my issue. The answer I got was "I have no idea what the problem could be, try searching on forums if anyone has said something about it". This is an actual paid support position. If they can't give me an answer as to why an official Microsoft product is delivered with corrupt files, at least give me the solution I already knew (i.e. make a new bootable USB).

I've been in IT for.. oh 23 years. Starting out at a computer company and been in support and sysadmin kinda jobs for about 20.
As a microsoft gold partner we're at the highest level there is. We were one of the dutch 7 (if i remember correctly) dutch launch partners for office 365.

And I have never EVER gotten a usefull answer from microsoft support. Sure with 365 they can call up logs and roll back customer data. But if you've got a server problem? They either take so long it doesn't matter anymore or they point out some obscure non related piece of jiggery that isn't supported and they tell you to solve that first.

Microsoft might as well quit with their helpdesk because google is actually more usefull.

There was a joke that went around some years ago. A quick version is:
A guy is in a helicopter when it gets caught in a huge fog bank. Getting the lost the pilot hovers next to a large building and shouts to someone inside 'Where are we?'. The person responds ' You are in a helicopter'. The pilot then flies straight to the airport and safely deposits the passenger. 'How did you know from that answer where we were?'
'Easy. The answer was factually true but completely useless. I knew it was the Microsoft building.'

You've got red on you.
Just saw what the CEO of Spotify said about how often people should be releasing music. I understand what he's getting at to a extent, that releasing Singles more regularly tends to fair better than a big album drop more infrequently. Pretty sure the majority of people get that by now with the nature of the internet. But still, wtf dude.
