Name your instruments? Have a sizable collection and just number them? Two cosmetically identical guitars loaded with different pickups and need a way to differentiate them? Rub some Letraset on the back of the headstock. ;)

You can pick this stuff up from most graphic arts suppliers in the UK. It takes a few seconds to use. They're essentially a sheet of dry transfer sheets available in different type faces. Carefully line up the letters you want to use against the chosen surface (sticky side down!) and slowly rub away at the letter with a pencil. Gently lift the sheet away and the letter will be left printed on the surface.

The best part is should you want to remove the letraset for reasons such as reselling your instrument, you can easily remove the letraset by gently rubbing it away with an eraser. No residue or visible marking is left behind after removal so it beats using permanent markers/stickers if you're concerned about resale value/having a permanent mark. Its cheap too! :)

One thing to note, when rubbing the letraset with a pen/pencil dont press too hard or you may leave an impression in the wood.

Different polepiece colors, different bridge color, different inlays, FLO has the Sustainer + extra controls, different strap colors . . . how are these two cosmetically identical again? ^_~
