Or do, whatever. If understand correctly I should introduce myself in here. Well to begin with I lack all sense of netiquette so I appreciate any helpful pointers. I don't have much of an online presence (no social networks, no instant messaging, NOTHING!) and rarely join forums. I am however very passionate about the things I like: music, literature and science. I first took guitar lessons when I was around 11 years old, and learned some electric guitar techniques plus some music theory as a teen. Been playing semi regularly ever since, always trying to improve my knowledge of music theory and my electric guitar technique whenever there's time, which wasn't very often. I enjoy reading ancient and medieval literature, as well as really good Victorian and modern fiction. I am also a PhD student in a field that combines AI, cognitive science and robotics. I work with the boring part: mathematical models and theory and such. Sorry, no killer robots --yet. Since I started my PhD (and moved to another country) I have, ironically, more personal time. I used to spend hours commuting in public transportation and now I live 10 mins away from work. I am now using this newly found free time to play the guitar! Music wise I like a lot of stuff: antique, classical, baroque, renaissance Lute music, opera, psychedelic rock, 80's rock, gothic rock, industrial, etc. I used to be *seriously* into metal in high school and throughout college. Nowadays I still listen to a lot of metal, mostly funeral doom, doom/death, stoner metal, some progressive but mostly any band with a good sound and good compositions. I'd rather listen to something good than something heavy. Preferably with some melody coming from more than 2 strings I joined the forum to ask for help buying a new amp, but I might stick around. We'll see!
