I will be in the same situation fairly soon, when I list my white whale for sale…the difference being that I will be selling the amp which I have wanted for a long, long time; at some point in the future, I will replace it with its more petite nephew: the Fryette Valvulator GP/DI.

Well, if I may be so bold as to offer a few suggestions, I notice you are in Swansea so that's quite a way to go, however...

Valentines is looming and presuming you have a certain someone why not book a hotel for an evening, take a drive with the good lady, take her for a dinner and maybe the pictures, then sort your amp scenario out once checking out of the hotel...? Get a list of kit you'd like to try and ring andertons and get an idea of what they would offer you for your amp first obviously.. but it's a two birds one stone kind of deal and Guildford is actually a pretty nice place, and if you book early hotel prices are pretty good too! (See pic)

You get new toys and you move your depreciating amp on to someone else, the mrs/ mr/ dolly the sheep (sorry..) gets a nice day out and a bit of romancing and everyone's happy :0D

    Just a thought like :0D

You don't have to do it on Valentine's Day...

What i usually do is make my wife a voucher for a trip somewhere (they normally look pretty good and she likes time to get ready for such things) and then take her when it's cheaper lol...

Hotels cost a fortune on Feb 14th, week later, cheap as chips ;0)

I used to love Anthrax. I was listening to Kerrang a few weeks ago and they played one of the later ones, Cadillac Rock Box which I had forgotten all about and actually quite liked it this time round.. funny how your tastes change isn't it..

Though it definitely likes to be pushed, it sounds great at very low levels.

That's good , the Einstein definitely likes a little volume to round things out a bit. There is so much preamp gain available it's easy to overdo it at lower volumes. However, get the master volume up to 1/4 and it all comes together nicely.
