Three strike policy

If you post something out of line / offensive or you are generally just being a nuisance then you will receive your first strike. You will be notified by PM and this strike will be non-negotiable! Depending on how you act from then one of two things will happen. - The strike will be removed after we see fit. - The strike will stay attached to you and may you carry the burden of your sins for the rest of eternity.

Repeat offenders will then get a second strike. A third strike means a ban. The length of this ban depends entirely upon how you have behaved and what your offence is. It may be a couple of days, it may be forever.

Flaming, aggressive behaviour

The forum is a laid back place for people to exchange ideas, share opinions and have a laugh with one another. There is no harm in jestful comments, but personal attacks and outright rudeness won't be tolerated. It should go without saying that rascism is not acceptable. Derogatory remarks used in a personal manner are also frowned upon. Avoid religion and politics. And please remember opinions are not something to be used to start an argument, they are merely a personal point of view, it's also appreciated that you share your opinions baring this in mind. Anyone who feels they are being victimised, unfairly treated or find something offensive, please contact one of the moderators so we can promptly look into it for you.

Creating multiple topics of the same subject.

Quite often topics are posted which have either already been covered at length, or are actively being discussed at the very same time in another thread. Please have a little look through the forums for a thread which is already relevant to the topic you want. Also use the search function to help you find what you're looking for, it's a handy tool. For example, if you are curious about adjusting "string height" type it into the search and see if there is a thread you may find useful.

Offensive images and videos.

We would expect everyone to use a little common sense here, pornographic, vulgar and offensive pictures or videos will be removed if it's felt they are likely to cause offense.

Language

Profanity is tolerated here, within moderation, there is no need to use profanity as every other word, or as an expression toward another member (this could be classed as flaming). All we ask is that you keep it reasonable and in good taste.

Choosing where to post your topic

It is very common for people to post topics in "general area" which belong in a much more specific forum. If you have a question about scales, post the topic in "playing" for example, or if you have something to sell, post in "buy/sell". It is highly unlikely this will lead to any action being taken, but please bare in mind the moderators have to sort through all the threads to make sure they are in the relevant place. If you are unsure of where to put your topic, or it falls somewhere between 2, by all means post it where you think it is most relevant.

Avatars and signatures

Try and keep them within the page boundary please, there is no need for any of you to be escaping into the next topic. It also looks neater. Same applies for signatures, keep them reasonable dudes. For avatars use no more than 200px x 200px.

Anyone who persists in ignoring these guidelines will be contacted by one of the moderators to make sure the rules are understood and to ensure in the future there are no misunderstandings. If a user still fails to work with these rules after a polite reminder, they will receive a warning and go on the admin list for having a strike against their username (see the Three Strike System global announcement). Persistent ignorance of the rules will result in 3 strikes and a ban of a suitable length of the admin/moderators choice. If they then choose to rejoin under a different username, they will be banned again. And eventually a permanent ban will be introduced if behaviour remains unchanged.

Ultimately, If this behaviour does persists we reserve the right to contact your ISP/parents/employer to report the behaviour.

If you are the unfortunate recipient of a post/PM from someone who feels that they can post just as they like with no respect for anyone else, please either report the post or forward the PM to a mod/admin.

Posting in spam threads

Please do not post in spam threads (yeah I know abusing them is funny, but they`ll never get read by the spammer). Reason being is that if there aren't any other posts in the spam thread, there’s a good few less steps to removing and banning the offending spammer so the annoying prat can't come back.

Necrobumping

There are sometimes dudes (especially newer guys full of enthusiasm), that are restarting old threads and topics for no real reason, other than to either add to their post count or simply have an excuse to be seen. Please do not necrobump a thread / topic unless you have something relevant to add to that topic. For example, there is no problem in bumping the 'Show Your Gear' thread or 'GAS' thread because replies will always be relevant, but spamming on some of Stick's threads is not necessary and is not tolerated.

Any necrobumps will be deleted, which will affect your post count.
